L.V. Nyumfi is built
entirely from natural materials and maintains the mystic that is part of
this remote region. At 13 metres in length and a capacity to carry up to
10 people in comfort your trip will be the experience of a lifetime.

The
boat has been fitted with a dive deck and ladder to ensure easy and safe
access to the water, a large shaded wooden deck for relaxing, all safety
equipment and a friendly crew.

Zambia, delve deeper into the experience
We are offering several itineraries based on various interests. Please
enquire about scheduled trips not included here or build your own custom
adventure.
Encompassing Sumbu National Park, Kalambo falls,
Cape Chaitika and Lufubu River. Activities include fishing, snorkelling,
game walks, bird watching, hiking, cultural interactions.
The tour includes 3 nights accommodation at Ndole Bay Lodge and 2
nights accommodation at Isanga Bay Lodge. Ndole Bay is used as a base
to explore Sumbu National Park and the surrounding areas.
Fishing, Kampasa Rainforest walk, night Kapenta fishing trip and game viewing are
conducted from here. SCUBA diving is available at all locations.
Isanga Bay is located near Kalambo Falls (2nd highest in
Africa).
The first night involves an introduction and information session over
welcome drinks at Isanga Bay Lodge. The next day either hike to Kalambo
falls, relax on the beach or take a boat up the Kalambo River.
Spend
another night at Isanga Bay and the next day travel to Ndole Bay Lodge.
Along the way the boat anchors at remote Cape Chaitika for a swim, dive
or snorkel in the crystal clear waters. Learn the secrets about the
multitude of colourful Cichlids underwater.
The following day is spent
entirely within Sumbu National Park; start off with some fishing in the
morning and a deep water swim.
Stop on a pristine white beach for lunch
and a break.
In the afternoon travel further into the Park and go for a
2 hour walk to visit Kampasa Rainforest. Deep within the park this
forest is home to significant wildlife numbers and has religious
significance to the local people.
Spend another night at Ndole Bay and
decide on the next day's activities. Go for a dive or snorkel at Cape Chipimbi and visit the remote village of Munshi where the boat builders
of Tanganyika practice their craft.
Travel back to Ndole Bay Lodge under
a vibrant sunset to enjoy a final night celebrated with a beach braii
and fire.
Local drummers and a fireshow top off a perfect day.

Your last
day is spent travelling back to Mpulungu via the Lufubu river Valley and
Nangu headland. Spectacular scenery and a sail dotted lake pass the
trip.

ENCOMPASSING NUNDO HEAD, KAMPASA
RAINFOREST, LUFUBU RIVER AND CAPE CHAITIKA.
This tour concentrates on the wilderness that is Sumbu NP as seen from
the Lake. The first night is spent at Ndole Bay Lodge in an en-suite
room. Welcome drinks and an orientation session take place in the
evening.
After breakfast the next morning travel along the pristine
shoreline of the Park. Stop on a secluded beach within the park to camp
for the night. Go for a short walk
at Nundo Head in the evening visiting
the balancing stones of the local Tabwa tribe, and come across game
coming down for their evening drink.
Alternatively go for a dive at our
newly discovered dive site "wonderland" and feed abundant Frontosa by
hand. Experience the real Africa around a beach campfire and a delicious
meal accompanied by the symphony of an
African star filled night. Start
early the next morning with a walk deeper into the NP to Kampasa
rainforest, home to significant wildlife numbers including the elusive
Sititunga antelope. Have lunch on board the boat while taking a scenic
cruise to the other end of the NP spotting game along the way.
Set up
camp several Kilometres up the Lufubu River in the dramatic Yendwe
valley and take a short climb up the escarpment for spectacular views
across the Lake and valley.
In the morning go for a swim or dive in the
crystal clear waters off Cape Chaithika. Learn the secrets about the
multitude of colourful Cichlids underwater. Travel back to Ndole Bay
Lodge under a vibrant sunset for a final beach braii, local drummers and
cold drinks.
